Call for Abstracts

Call for abstracts for the Grampians Mental Health Conference has been extended. Submission now close: Friday 9th September 2016.

In 2017 the Grampians Mental Health Conference will be presenting a conference focussed on Resilience across the lifespan. The Committee invites submissions that focus on better outcomes for consumers, carers, staff and organisations, under the following key concepts:

  • Resilience across the lifespan focusing on 5 key age groups
    • Conception to 2 years of age
    • 2 years to 12 years of age
    • 12 to 25 years of age
    • 25 to 64 years of age
    • 64 years and beyond
  • The impact of mental health concerns and/or AOD use on a person’s resilience or;
  • Building the resilience of the health and welfare sector workforces or;
  • Key theories/concepts/research conducted on what contributes to a person’s resilience, such as:
    • Attachment theory
    • The impact of trauma on resilience
    • Grief/loss
    • Community/cultural resilience
    • Lived experiences of resilient people/communities

Submissions can consider the key concepts in any number of settings including, but not limited to:

  • working with individual consumers or carers
  • being a carer or person with lived experience
  • program development, delivery, and review
  • staff and organisational development
  • system and policy development
  • advocacy at any level
  • research and applied research.

Authors are invited to submit abstracts for presentations (30 minutes including question s unless there is a proposal for a group/interactive session to run across two session times, acceptance of these will be limited).

Notification of authors: Friday 14th October 2016
Author acceptance due: Friday 4th November 2016
